A Civic Learning Experience for All
The Trust for the National Mall and the National Park Service are building the National Mall Gateway in partnership with a number of expert leaders in history, education and civics.
As Americans, we have a right and a responsibility to know our history and how we can participate in our nation’s story and our shared future. Studies show that the understanding of civics among our country’s school-age children is at a 30-year low.
The Gateway will engage and inspire visitors both in person and virtually with an unparalleled new way to learn from the National Mall. The Gateway will also activate this national treasure to help visitors better understand U.S. history and learn the rights and duties of citizenship.
Stay tuned for a preview, coming soon, to showcase the immersive visuals that will take you up close with the monuments, unique content and stories that will help connect families, students, educators and lifelong learners — both on the Mall and virtually from anywhere — to American history and the National Mall’s historic purpose.
